Abstract
- Intracranial gliomas were the most common tumor in the central nervous system. They are purely infiltrating tumors except ependymomas, so that the surgical management of glioma without recurrence was very difficult even if total enucleation of growth zone. Recently the chemotherapy and radiation therapy have been studied for intracranial tumors, especially glioblastoma and medulloblastoma, as well as preoperative shunt operation in secondary hydrocephalus due to tumors. The astrocytoma and glioblastoma were occurred commonly in all intracranial gliomas. We analyzed 47 cases of intracranial gliomas which was histologically verified after operation at the National Medical Center from Jan. 1971 to May 1977.
