Effects of Functional Food Components in Reducing Obesity-induced Inflammation and Metabolic Diseases

Abstract

Obesity-induced inflammation leads to metabolic complications such as insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes, liver diseases, atherosclerosis, and certain types of cancers. Hence, modulation of obesity-induced inflammation is considered to be a useful strategy for protecting against metabolic diseases. In this min-review, we will introduce some of the functional food components, which may be useful for protecting obesity-induced inflammation and metabolic diseases.
