Curvularia species are filamentous, pigmented fungi which are found in soils, air, and plants, and cause endocarditis, peritonitis, brain abscess, sinusitis, and keratitis. We report a case of fungal keratitis caused by Curvularia species and treated successfully with 0.15% amphotericin B eyedrops in a 58-year-old woman. KOH smear demonstrates hyphae and four to five celled poroconidia, which are borne on a bent knee type conidiophore, are found on lactophenol cotton blue stain. Fungal culture on Sabouraud's dextrose agar plate demonstratesmoderately rapid growing, cottony, and white, orange, and green with a brown reverse.
