Abstract

Peyronie's disease is a localized and often progressive idiopathic fibrosis of the tunica albuginea that is usually accompanied by pain and curvature of the penis on erection, poor erection beyond the site of the plaque and, in severe cases, impossibility of vaginal penetration. We treated 16 cases of peyronie's disease with oral and locally injected corticosteroids. Such therapy proved beneficial in relieving pain and penile deviation and reducing the size of the fibrous nodule without any side effects in the acute stage of peyronie's disease.
