Abstract

Hemorrhagic cystitis (HC) is a well known complication of bone marrow transplantation (BMT) and normally attributed to the use of high-dose cyclophosphamide in the preparation for BMT. It has been recently reported that a polyomavirus (BK) is associated with late-onset HC following BMT. Adenovirus is generally considered to be a cause of HC in children and also in some immunocompromised adults. We experienced a patient with HC after BMT who shed adenovirus and BK virus concomitantly. The clinical findings and laboratory studies are described with review of the literatures.
