Influence of Buscopan Compositum on the Intravesical Pressure

Abstract

The author has done cystometry using Lewis recording cystometer before and after the administration of Buscopan Compositum (1 amp/5 ml) in 55 subjects, of which 21 cases were normal subjects and 34 cases had various bladder diseases. The results are as follows: 1. In the normal subjects Buscopan Compositum administration produced an increase of bladder capacity only mildly associated with no ether significant changes. 2. In the patients with various bladder diseases Buscopan Compositum administration produced an increase of the bladder capacity with a decrease of voiding pressure, especially more prominently in the patients with a severe degree of bladder lesion. 3. It is suggested that Buscopan Compositum is a valuable therapeutic agent for bladder diseases.
