Abstract

Trypsin digestion and PAS-hematoxylin staining methods were used to study cellular details, endothelial cells and intramural pericytes of retinal capillaries and their distributions in human dog and bovine retinas. Ratio of endothelial cells to pericytes was approximately 1 to 1 in human and 4-5 to 1 in dog and bovine, and showed no regional peculiarity in their distribution, ie, posterior polar and peripheral, and arteriole and venule sites of retina.
