Abstract

Guided bone regeneration, a dental surgical procedure, is used to promote growth of the alveolar hard tissue for bone defect with the help of membranes and other barrier techniques. The membrane fixation technique plays a significant role in the success of the bone graft. Several methods have been proposed for membrane fixation, such as the use of a holding suture and a tag pin. However, there are certain disadvantages as the procedures are cumbersome and often a secondary procedure is required. In this case report, we describe a simple method of membrane fixation using a healing abutments during guided bone regeneration, along with implant placement at the bone level.
