Abstract

Cysts of the meniscus represent a less common disorder of knee which may be overlooked if the examining physician fails to consider this entity in evaluating a pathologic condition of the knee. This benign tumor was first described by Nicaise in 1883 and many cases were reported by others but the cause and origin of tumor still are poorly understood, and much is left to speculation. Our purpose is to report our findings in 5 patients seen in 5 years at Severance Hospital, and to stress that adequate diagnosis clinically.
