A Clinical Study of Discoid Meniscus
Abstract
- From September 1983 to February 1987, the authors could experience 43 cases of discoid meniscus from 36 patients by arthroscopic examination. The results of this study may be summarized as follows, 1. There were noticed 42 cases of lateral discoid meniscus and 1 case of medial discoid meniscus in 192 cases of internal derangement of knee joint which underwent arthroscopic examinstion. 2. The most common symptom was pain on squatting and loud click was the next. 3. The likelihood of rupture in discoid meniscus seemed to be increasing with sge. 4. Postoperative results appeared related with the pathologic conditions of meniscus and the associated findings.
