Abstract
- Ascending aortic aneurysm is infrequently associated with bicuspid aortic valve. A bicuspid arortic valve is the most common congenital valvular heart abnormality, with a prevalence of0 approximately 1% in the general population. The exact mechanism of the genesis of aortic aneurysm in patients with bicuspid aortic valve is not clear, however, the intrinsic abnormality of the aortic wall has been suggested. We report three cases of ascending aortic aneurysm in patients with bicuspid aortic valve with references.
