5 Cases of Allopurinol Hypersensitivity Syndrome

Abstract

Allopurinol hypersensitivity syndrome is a rare, but life-threatening adverse reaction to allopurinol therapy. Clinically, it is characterized by multiple systemic abnormalities such as fever, rash, decreased renal function, hepa-tocellular injury, leukocytosis, and eosinophilia. We report herein 5 cases of allopurinol hypersensitivity syndrome and review the literatures.
