A Case of Early Carcinoma of the Ampulla of Vater Combined with Adenoma of Colon
Abstract
-
With progress in diagnostic procedures such as duodenoscopy and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreaticography (BRCP), early diagnosis of carcinoma of ampulla of Vater has become possible. The occurrence of careinoma is much less frequent in the ampulla of Vater than in the pancreas, gallbladder, and extrahepatic bile duct. Carcinoma of the ampulla of the Vater not infiltrated beyond Oddis muscle shows excellent postoperative outcome of high curability of early carcinoma of the ampulla of Vater. We experienced a case of early carcinoma of the ampulla of Vater combined with adenoma of colon, The patient who was admitted due to epigastric pain, was diagnosed by duodenoscopy and colonoscopy and surgical specimen.
