Abstract

54 cases of open heart surgery which were performed at Kyungpook National University hospital from Jan. 1980 to June 1982 and estimated time and amount of used drugs of before, during and after bypass. The results were following: Among the diseases, T.O.F. anesthesia time was taken 532.65+/-84.17 min. which was the longest and P.S. anesthesia time was taken 392.50+/-32.50 min. which was the shortest. Each estimated time of before, during and after bypass were 176.67+/-22.71, 106.29+/-58.9 and 186.57+/-70.10 min. Total average anesthesia time was 469,52+/-78.65 min. The kinds and amount of used drugs during total anesthesia time were morphine 1.36+/-0.47, pancuronium 0.46+/-0.13, soditm bicarbonate 128.08+/-51.22 and lasix 2.62+/-0.87 mg/kg and the frequently used drugs before bypass were morphine and pancuronium, and sodium bicarbonate, calcium carbonate and lasix were frequently used during after bypass. The most frequently used drugs before bypass were thiopental 5.50+/-1.26, ketamine 3.07+/-0.63, valium 0.76+/-0.09, chlorpromazine 0.61+/-0.10 and sucinylcholine 1.20+/-0.45 mg/kg. The kinds and amount of drugs used before and after bypass were lidocaine 2.95+/-0.84 mg/kg and digoxin 8.63+/-5.34 g/kg, which were mostly used in after bypass. The most frequently used drugs after bypass were epinephrine 0.06+/-0.03, dopamine 11.41+/-3.24, isuprel 0.03+/-0.02 and protamine 9.75+/-0.43 mg/kg. The most frequently used drugs in total anesthetic period of open heart surgery were mnorphine(54 cases), pancuronium(54 cases), protamine(54 cases), succinylcholine(44 cases), thiopental(39 cases), sodium bicarbonate(39 cases), calcium chloride(25 cases) and lasix(21 cases).
