Abstract

According to the experimental and clinical data reported so far, the immunologic factors may play the important role in the genesis of infertility at various points in the reproductive tract in female as well as in male grom spermatogenesis to embryo implantation, although there have been much theoretical problems which have to be resolved and much differences in the results of experimental and clinical studies including treatments. It is important to recognize and identify the immunoglobulin class and attempt to demonstrate the mechanisms by which these immunoglobulins exert their effects on the spermatozoa. The use of high and low dose steroids for immunodepression as well as sperm washing and intrauterine insemination or coupling it with in vitro fertilization provide the best forms of therapy currently available.
