Abstract
- Liver cirrhosis is a serious and progressive disease that eventually results in hepatic failure. Unfortunately, because of the liver's remarkable functional reserves, clinical manifestations are often absent until extensive damage has already occurred. In patients with compensated or occult liver disease, even minor stress may precipitate overt hepatic dysfunction. We report a case of a patients with liver cirrhosis, diagnosed during the anesthetic recovery phase, who developed acute hepatic failure after induced hypotension for spinal surgery.
