Abstract

BACKGROUND: When a new reagent for chemistry autoanlayzer is developed, it is essential to evaluate the reagent before utilization. As In Wha, Inc. has just developed new Liqchem(R) reagent for chemistry autoanalyzer, we tried to evaluate the reagent.
METHODS
Thirteen kinds of reagents for AST, ALT, GGT, ALP, BUN, Cr, Glu, IP, TG, UA, T-Bil, D-Bil, and HDL-C were evaluated for precision and linearity following the guidelines of NCCLS EP5-A and EP6-P, respectively. Comparison study with foreign reagents was also performed according to the NCCLS EP9-A guideline.
RESULTS
Coefficient of variations (CV) of within-run, between-run, between-day, and total precision were less than 4% for all anlaytes. And the linearity data were acceptable (R2 = 0.9948~1.0000) for all test items. In addition, good correlation with foreign reagents (R = 0.946~0.999) was observed for all analytes.
CONCLUSIONS
In Wha Liqchem(R) reagent for chemistry autoanalyzer showed good precision, linearity, and correlation with foreign reagents that could be an alternative of currently used foreign reagent.
