A Case of Obstructive Jaundice due to Tuberculous Lymphadenitis with Duodenal Tuberculosis

Abstract

Obstructive jaundice due to extrinsic compression of CBD that results from tuberculous lymphadenitis is rare. The duodenal tuberculosis is also a very rare disease. We experienced a case of obstructive jaundice due to tuberculous lymphadenitis with duodenal tuberculosis. A 22-year-old man presented with constitutional symptoms and biochernical evidence of biliary tract obstruction. He was diagnosed as tuberculous meningitis. He has received antituberculous chemotherapy for six months. By abdominal ultrasonogram, CT scans and fiberoptic gastroduodenoscopy, masses around the head of pancreas and duodenal ulcer were detected. The patient underwent CT-guided and endoscopic biopsy. The diagnosis was made on the basis of the histological study of biopsy specimen.
