Abstract

Ten trials of external quality assessment for clinical chemistry in general chemistry and blood gas were performed in 1996. A total 10 pairs of QC materials for general chemistry and blood gas were distributed to 391 laboratories with a response rate of 76.8% in general chemistry and to 173 laboratory with a response rate of 90.4% in blood gas. All the control materials in specifically made plastic box were sent in one time. The control items were sodium, potassium, chloride, BUN, glucose, calcium, phosphorus, uric acid, creatinine, bilirubin, total protein, albumin, total cholesterol, triglycerides, AST, ALT, ALP, LDH and GGT in general chemistry and pH, pCO2 and pO2 in blood gas. The methods of analysis were fixed with one method in calcium, uric acid, protein, cholesterol, and the mean, SD, CV and VIS of each test principles were analyzed. The analytical methods in each item were relatively highly standardized and stable.
