Neurocysticercosis is a CNS infestation of encysted larval stage of pork tapeworm when a man serves as the intermediate host. This infestation is classified into 4 types depending on lnvoloved anatomic site: parenchymal, intraventircular, meningeal, and mixed. The diagnosis is made prirnarily by imaging studies and CSF exarnination We reviewed MRI and CT findings in 34 patients of neurocysticercosis in Hanyang University Hospital from 1987 to 1991. These patients had been diagnosed as neurocysticercosis by clinical symptoms, MRI and/or CT, and ELISA (Serum and CSF). MRI was more useful than CT for the diagnosis in various types of neurocysticercosis.
