Abstract

Transcatheter embolization is currently accepted as the treatment of choice for pulmonary arteriovenous malformations, since surgical intervention or resection is not feasible in most instances. But in particular cases of pulmonary arteriovenous malformations, complications such as device embolization or recurrence due to recanalization have been reported. And the alternative therapeutic options to reduce the risk of these complicaions should be considered. We report a case of diffuse pulmonary arteriovenous malformation, which was treated with Amplatzer vascular plugs and Guglielmi detachable coils in a 28-year-old woman.
