Abstract

In Korea, the proportional population of 65 years and older versus all other ages is increasing rapidly. This trend of growing aged population is known as aged-society. Further, multiple concurring chronic diseases and geriatric syndromes are the main problems within elderly care and treatments. A better understanding of these chronic clinical changes and their underlying mechanisms of syndromes are essential to many geriatricians and other associated medical specialists. Therefore, geriatricians should be required to provide comprehensive assessments and care to address complicated health statuses. Clinical recommendations and advices on the quality of clinical elderly management must be developed to confirm coordinated and comprehensive management of multiple co-occurring chronic diseases and geriatric syndromes. Therefore, it will be possible to provide possible preventative strategy approaches of elderly care and treatments.
