Left Sided Appendicitis in Patient with Intestinal Malrotation

Abstract

Acute left sided appendicitis associated with intestinal malrotation is a diagnostic dilemma due to a atypically located cecum. With careful physical examination and ultrasonographic examination, accurate diagnosis of left sided appendicitis can be made. We report on the case of a 10-year-old-male with acute left sided appendicitis superimposed on the non-rotational anomaly of the gastrointestinal tract.
