A Case of Pulmonary Mucormycosis with a Uncontrolled Diabetic

Abstract

Pulmonary mucormycosis (Phycomycetes) is an uncommon fungal infection complicating diabetes mellitus, leukemia, lymphoma, and other debilitating diseases Although the infection usually progresses rapidly, chronic pulmonary lesions have been reported, and clinical manifestation may be indolent, particularly on DM and renal failure. This 52-years-old female patient with pulmonary mucormycosis was indolent and had chronic pulmonary lesion, and was successfully treated with resectional surgery and diabetic control.
