Abstract
- The global epidemic of COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019), which began at the end of 2019, is currently in progress, and the largest number of confirmed cases in the Republic of Korea has been renewed day after day as of July 2021 due to COVID-19 virus variants. Vaccines have effectively suppressed many infectious diseases in human history, and the introduction and dissemination of vaccines are also essential for prevention and reduction of severity and death in COVID-19. This paper provides scientific information on the effectiveness and safety of the four types of COVID-19 vaccine currently used in Korea. In addition, we would like to examine the considerations for the use of the COVID-19 vaccine in various target groups and situations encountered in the clinic.
