A Case of Liposarcoma in a Six Month Old Infant

Abstract

A case of liposarcoma in a 6 month old female infant in the upper portion of the right thigh and possible extension into the retroperitoneal cavity is reported. She expired 6 month after biopsy. Histologiocally, the tumor reveals different patterns of both round cell type and myxoid type, that is, mixed type (WHO classification of soft tumors, 1969). This represents the first roported case of liposarcoma in infant period in Korean literature.
