A case of osteopetrosis

Abstract

A case of osteopetrosis is reported. The Patient is 29 years old male with complaints of slight visualdistrubance and medial deviation of the right eye since childhood. The blood examination was normal except for aslight diminution in hemoglobine and red blood cells. The funduscopic examination revealed central scotoma in theright side suggesting of an optic atrophy but normal in the left. An entire skeletal survey revealed generalizedincrease in bony densities with pathological fractures of the left 1st and 9th ribs, the left femur with solidunion and left medial malleolus.
