Abstract
- Pathological fractures are investigated first when diagnosing a fracture caused by lower energy trauma using the osteolytic radiological findings. In particular, in the elderly, fractures with osteolytic radiological findings need to be distinguished from pathologic fractures because a fracture of the femoral neck can occur as a result of lower energy trauma. We experienced three cases, who were initially suspected as having pathologic fractures by the osteolytic radiological findings, but were finally diagnosed with psuedopathologic fractures in the femoral neck. We report these three cases with a review of the relevant literature.
