Dose plannings with wedge filtered narrow beam for the treatment of the head and neck

Abstract

Some of the experimental radiation dose plannings for the clinical application has been developed for thetreatment of the head and neck at the Cancer Center of Yonsei University. In this paper, it is fully discussed forthe typical wedge field combination and with auxiliary devices such as; 1) the use of additional collimation, 2) the settings of isocenter to the wedge, 3) the parallel wedge combination, 4) the plan with the bolus and 5)arrangement of the free angle combinations.
