Abstract
- Epiphrenic diverticulum is an uncommon condition and frequently associated with dysphagia and regurgitation. The treatment of symptomatic epiphrenic diverticulum is usually diverticulectomy and myotomy. Esophageal manometry is useful test for the diagnosis of combined esophageal motor abnormalities and determination of extent of myotomy. A 48 year-old male patient was admitted due to longstanding dysphagia and regurgitation. He had suffered from dysphagia for both solid and liquid foods meals 5 years. The esophagoscopy, esophagography and chest CT scan showed huge epiphrenic diverticulum. Diverticulectomy and esophageal myotomy was performed.
