A Case of HEPATOID Adenocarcinoma of the Stomach
Abstract
- The histological and immunohistoehernical features of hepatocellular differentiation have been described in scene adenocarcinornas of the stomach. The term "hepatoid adenoearcinoma" has been proposed fot this rare variety of tumors. A 69-year-old female patient was admitted to the hospital with melena, dizmess and general wealcoess, Gastmfibroscopy revealed gastric tumor oc eupying the lesser curvature of the body and fundus. Serum AFP level was markdly increased. But, there was no evidence of liver metastasis on the abdominal CT and liver scan. Near total gastrect omy was done and gross examinatian of the gastrectomy specirnen revealed an ulcerated tumor, 5.0cm in maximum diameter, located in the lesser curvature of the body and fundus.
