Abstract
- Arteriovenous malformation is an abnormal connection between artery and vein. The connection may be single or multiple, composed of channels and spaces forming a complex vascular structure. While cases of congenital arteriovenous malformations are relatively common, cases of acquired multiple arteriovenous malformations are quite rare. Acquired arteriovenous malformation is frequently caused by injury, which induces direct arteriovenous shunting, but develops spontaneously rarely.
Authors experienced a case of acquired multiple arteriovenous malformations developed on the scalp in the patient of liver cirrhosis.
