A Case of Idiopathic Hypereosinophilic Syndrome Presenting Bowel Perforation and Pulmonary Thromboembolism
Abstract
- The idiopathic hypereosinophilic syndrome is a disorder marked by the sustained overproduction of eosinophils. The disease is clinically characterized by damage to multiple organs due to eosinophilic infiltration and mediators without identifiable underlying causes. We report a case of idiopathic hypereosinophilic syndrome presenting bowel perforation combined with pulmonary thromboembolism in a 29-year-old male patient with pain and palpable mass at the right lower quadrant area.
