Abstract

PURPOSE: To assess the factors associated with recurrence rate with central serous chorioretinopathy patients.
METHODS
Retrospective analysis of 73 patients was performed and the clinical manifestation, recurrence rate and visual outcome were analyzed.
RESULTS
Fifty-four males and nineteen females were recruited. Mean age of patients was 41.8 years. The disease was bilateral in 5 patients and the mean size of serous detachment was 2.5 disc diameters. Recurrence rate was 47.9% (35 patients). Mean number of leaking point in fluorecein angiography was significantly higher in the recurrence group than that of the non-recurrence group (p=0.01).
CONCLUSIONS
The number of leaking point was significantly associated with recurrence rate of the disease.
