Abstract

A detailed analysis is presented of 69 eyes 52 patients who underwent traooculectomy with post-operative subconjunctival injection of triamcinolone acetonide(4 mg). Follow-up period ranged from 2 to 13.5 months with a mean of 6.1 months. The filtering bleb formation was maintained in 60 eyes(87.0%) of 69 eyes. Intraocular pressure was controlled to 21mm Hg or less in 62 eyes(89.9%) of 69 eyes, that is to say, 58 eyes(96.7%) of 60 eyes in filtering bleb formation group plus 4 eyes(44.4%) of 9 eyes in no bleb formation group. There was a statistically significant difference in intraocular pressure control between the filtering bleb formation and no bleb formation group(p<0.05).
