The Effects of Morgan Therapeutic Lens in Chemical Corneal Burn

Abstract

The Morgan therapeutic lens was designed as a sterile disposable scleral contact lens which provided ocular lavage and medication to the conjunctiva and the cornea. In this study, eleven chemical burn patients were treated, five patients with Morgan therapeutic lenses and six patients with classical syringe irrigation thraugh last six years, and the results were compared. The results of Morgan therapeutic lens group showed shorter admission dates, better visual acuities, and less complications than those of classical syringe irrigation group.
