Paraplegia Complicated by Laminectomies for Spinal Stenosis: Case Report

Abstract

Lumbar spinal stenosis occur most frequently in males of middle age or older. Spinal AVM occursfrequently in these patients. A patient is described who presented with clinical histories and myelographic findings compatible with spinal stenosis. Neurological decline was found to have a spinal AVM. Clinical symptoms of spinal spondylosis and spinal AVM and a hypothesis related to hemodynamic consequence of venous hypertension is reviewed.
