Abstract

Clinical experience with a case of sparganosis invading the intracerebral region was reported with review of the literatures. A 17-year-old male who had a history of having eaten raw snakes and frogs, had suffered from uncontrolled seizure with medication. This seizure started from right thumb and then spreaded whole body. C-T scan revealed ring form enhancement in the left frontal area. Left frontoparietal craniotomy was performed and a live Sparganum mansoni was successfully removed from intracerebral region using surgical microscope. This is very rare case in which a live Sparganum Mansoni was removed from intracerebral region.
