Abstract

Vasectomy has become a popular method for family planning in Korea and this has been followed by an increase in the number of patients requesting vasectomy reversal. This study was designed to observe the psychosocial aspects of the 198 vasectomized patients from January in 1990 to October in 1991. There was early vasectomy tendency after obtaining necessary children. Vasovasostomy was requested owing to change of attitiude in 94(47.3%) patients, remarriage in 59(30.2%), death of children in 29(14.5%), deseased children in 10(5.0%), vasectomy before marriage in 5(2.5%) and psychologic problem in 1(0.5%). In comparision with the previous reports, death of the children was decreased and change of attitude was increased as the reason for vasovasostomy.
