Clinical & Radiological Evaluation of Skull Bone Tumors

Abstract

The authors retrospectively analyzed 30 patients poerated at the Chonnam University Hospital from 1986 to 1994 to evaluate the clinical and radiological finding of skull bone tumor. Of the 30 skull bone tumors, the most common skull tumors were eosinophilic granuloma (23%) and osteoma (23%). The mostcommon symptom was painless mass (80%), and the skull tumors occured most commonly in the frontal and the parietal bone. Radiological finding of the skull showed the osteolytic lesion in 19 cases (63%). Many malignant skull tumors showed multiple lytic lesions and benign tumors showed the blastic lesions rather than the lytic lesions. The preoperative clinical and radiological findings are presented.
