Abstract
-
The development of basal cell carcinoma in seborrheic keratosis is rarely reported despite the frequency of the two tumors . Herein we report a case of basal cell carcinoma arising in seborrheic keratosis. The patient was a seventy-one-year old female who presented with a brown colored nodule on left malar area for 6 months. Histopathological analysis of the lesion revealed a basaloid cell mass that appeared to be a basal cell carcinoma beneath a seborrheic keratosis lesion . There was direct connection between basal cell carcinoma and seborrheic keratosis, so it appears that both neoplasms may derive from a similar source.
