Abstract

Tile diurnal variation of the intraocular, pressure(IOP) are measured from those of physical trauma, far advanced pulmonary tuberculosis and of cancer(A group) and mmeasured also those of after surgical operations. Fowlling points are observed. 1. In the A group, 54 eyes in 29 patients, the IOP and variations are all slightly increased, and especially in type of the curve, those double variations are increased and in the other hand, those constant type are not observed. 2. In the B group, 36 eyes in 18 patients, the average 10 after operKtion slightly increased and like those A group, the doubIe variation increased and the constant typc decreased. The average variation over slightly the border-line limits, 5mm, Hg.. 3. In the B group, of those convalescent stage, the average IOP and variation decreased and in type, those double variations decreased and constant type increased. 4. From those observations and from my clinical experiences. it must be conclude and emphasized that physical, emotional upsets have directly influence upon the stability of the vascular tonus or upon central regulating mechnism of the IOP ane it may be also expected that in the prediposed eyes with narrow angles or in eyes with repeated such upsets, an acute attack of Glaucoma are easily precipitated.
