Abstract

A lumbar epidural block is widely performed to treat low back and lower extremity pain. Though there is a very low incidence of neurological complications after lumbar epidural block, there have been some reports of neurological complications after a lumbar epidural block. We report a case of left leg paralysis following a lumbar epidural block in a patient who had lower back pain and intermittent neurological claudication. After the neurological complications occurred, severe herniated lumbar disc disorders were found on the lumbar magnetic resonance image.
