Annual Report on External Quality Assessment in Immunoserology in Korea (1996)

Abstract

The followings are the results for quality assessment in immunoserology for 1996: 1. Evaluation of external quality assessment was done in 2 trials, the first was participated by 77% and the second by 82%. 2. Institutions which failed to participate in 3 consecutive trials were eliminated from the mailing list. 3. HBsAg and anti-HBs as tested by EIA and ASO, CRP, and RF by nephelometry showed continuous increases parallel with last year. 4. Concordance with the recommended result was highest for STS and anti-HIV, and lowest for anti-HCV and the Widal test. 5. To commemorate the twentieth anniversary of the Korean Association of Quality Assurance for the Clinical Laboratory, the advancements in immunoserology were summarized and reported. 6. An annual review course for diagnostic immunology was newly organized into a workshop format.
