Reoperation of Valvular Heart Disease

Abstract

Cardiac valve reoperations have become quite a common procedure and is associated with high surgical risk and poses major challenges for the surgeon. Reoperation of heart valve disease has specific problems different from the first operation in terms of patient status, operative indications and time, adhesion of operative field, implantated prosthesis and its surrounding cardiac structures. It is worthwhile to study the different points of reoperation of heart valve disease to improve surgical results.
