Abstract

Plasmacytoma is a neoplastic proliferation of plasma cells and commonly occurs in the bone marrow. However, it may develop in any tissue throughout the body. Extramedullary plasmacytomas constitute 3-5% of all plasma cell neoplasms, and the most common site of these tumors is the upper respiratory tract. Extramedullary plasmacytoma of the omentum is extremely rare. We report a case of extramedullary plasmacytoma of the omentum presented as a huge omental cystic mass on ultrasonogram and CT scans. It was confirmed by immunohistochemical study of the resected specimen.
