A Clinical Experience with Pancreatic Cavernous Hemangioma

Abstract

Cavernous hemangioma is a very rare disease among benign tumors of the pancreas. Recently, authors experienced a case of pancreatic cavernous hemangioma. A 54-year-old woman was admitted to our hospital for surgical evaluation of a huge retroperitoneal mass observed by abdominal ultrasonogram and computerized tomography scan. The tumor was resected completely and it was confirmed as a pancreatic cavernous hemangioma by pathologic examination. The patient was discharged. This is the first case of pancreatic cavernous hemangioma ever reported in Korea. We report this case with a brief review of literatures.
