Esthetic rehabilitation of an anterior maxillary tooth using immediate implant placement and provisional restoration: a case report

Abstract
- Achieving both esthetic and functional stability in single-tooth replacement of the maxillary anterior region is challenging. Recently, an immediate implant placement with provisionalization has been introduced to minimize the edentulous period and promoting soft tissue development. This case report describes a 75-yearold male with fractured maxillary left central incisor who underwent extraction and immediate implant placement. An immediate provisional restoration was designed to guide peri-implant soft tissue contour. The peri-implant soft tissue contour was precisely transferred to the definitive prosthesis with digital workflow. This case demonstrates that immediate implant placement and provisionalization supported by digital impression can provide predictable esthetic and functional results in maxillary anterior region.
