Abstract
- In Korea, the concern on the education of medical ethics has been relatively low, and the most of ethics education has been lecture-centered.
Authors developed the program for mass education on the medical ethics based upon the cognitive development theory of Piaget and Kohlberg, in which the students lake an active part. The program consists of 10 sessions, each of which is made of 10 minute watching of audiovisual materials treating the ethically dilemmatic subjects and 60 minute discussion of it by students themselves. And we tested the effectiveness of the program to the undergraduate students of Seoul National University College of Medicine. The effect of the program was proved. We could find that the consciousness of the students on the ethical problems was rising as the sessions progressed.
Now we are developing the self-learning version of the program with construction of CD-ROM title and web site.
