Atypical Femoral Fracture Occurring at a Proximal Screw Insertion Site after Plate Removal in a Distal Femoral Fracture

Abstract

Atypical femoral fracture can occur in situations of bone turnover suppression or the stress concentrations. Rarely, such fractures can also occur around an implant especially at a proximal or distal screw. This paper presents a case of an atypical femoral fracture at a proximal screw insertion site after implant removal with a literature review.
